Ford will be in full production on the new Transit van for their 2015 model introduction. Check out this great article from Motor Trend Magazine: . This new model is important to the RV consumer because once the new 2015 arrives it will replace the long-running E-series van used in most Class C motorhomes, and provide better fuel efficiency and more cargo room. In the past the E-series van engine options were a 4.6 liter V8, a 5.4 liter V8, or the 6.8 liter V10. The new Transit van engine will offer a 3.7 liter V-6, 3.5 V-6 liter EcoBoost V6, and a 3.2 liter I-5 diesel, all mated to a 6-speed auto transmission. And the Transit van is available as a cut-away van chassis for building motorhomes. I am already seeing the transition in these models from Winnebago and Itasca:The Winnebago TREND / Itasca VIVA models are using a Dodge Ram Promaster Van for their new Class C product line. The engine offering here is a 3.6 liter V6.. I predict that the van engine and cut-away chassis will certainly make an impact on buying a Class C
